I am a quadriplegic retired vet and was needing some help getting from my car in front of the Liars Bench to my room on the second floor at the Carey house hotel across the street when an Angel named Brandy of whom works at the Liars Bench came out of the bar got down on her knees, looked me in the eye and said "I am going to get a wheelchair from the hospital and I will get you to your room" And that's exactly what she diskless her heart. There aren't of those kind people around now a days. She is a gift from good that will never be forgotten. Thanks again Brandy. I hope you see this post.

This place feels like home!! Definitely a favorite with the locals. Great people, always a good time. Best local prices and the only REAL bar in town that doesn't close early.

Very popular local bar with a very unique clientele. Excellent place to stop over om the way to or from South Lake Tahoe. Fun town. Fun bar. I chose to live in Gold Country. I love it here!

Great dive bar. Closes early when they feel like it. Or maybe bartender didn't show for their shift. Anyway, bummed that they closed at midnight in the middle of a drink and conversation.
